Photo of the Day: Team Suzi

Today’s photo is more about the meaning behind it than the quality or creativity of the photo. I work at the American Cancer Society, and we recently found out that our coworker was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer. I hate all cancer, but especially pancreatic cancer. My aunt died of it about 2 1/2 years ago, and it’s the only cancer that hasn’t had any significant breakthroughs in the last 40 years. My coworkers have rallied together to support her every way possible. Today we all wore “Team Suzi” t-shirts, made her signs of encouragement, and took group photos.

I like the spirit and camaraderie of this shot but I hate, hate, HATE the news that Suzi is so ill with such a dangerous cancer. I will be thinking of her!

  2. So sorry about your colleague. I hate cancer too. My dad died from it 2 1/2 years ago. But I’m sure you do good work, and I love how you support your coworker.

  3. 15 years ago this past December I lost my mom to this horrible disease. But with good spirit, a supportive immediate and extended family, and a faith second to none, a quality of life was had for her. Your loving expression here is more helpful to Suzi than any one may realize. Go Suzi! And Go Team Suzi!
