We had snowfall in Kansas City this morning. No doubt much of the country is experiencing the same thing. Stay safe!

Yesterday’s outdoor temps were perfect, so we opened up the doors and windows after work and sat outside to eat our grilled burgers and steamy corn on the cob. During dinner I casually mentioned that if we lived in Hawaii, we’d have weather like this everyday. Jerod replied that he would be perfectly fine with moving to Hawaii. Now if we could get all of our family and friends to move with us?
As far as weather goes, yesterday couldn’t have been any more perfect. It started off with a gorgeous sunrise, followed by a sunny day in the low 80s. That’s what I call perfection!
Here in the Midwest, we’re finally getting some relief from about a month of 90-100+ degree temps. With the lower temperatures, naturally, comes storms. Unfortunately damage was done to some homes in the area, but our apartment complex didn’t suffer any damage besides this fallen tree.
Last night we had really strong thunderstorms. I huddled in the corner of my patio to take pictures of the pounding rain. Jerod claimed it was safe, even with my tripod, since I was back away from the storm. A few minutes later (back inside), we saw a huge bolt of lightning hit very close to the apartment. I’m not so sure I was safe after all, but what good photographer isn’t willing to take risks for a photo?
Last night Jerod and I went for a walk to enjoy the slightly cooler than normal weather. Flowers, sun, and … bugs? Definitely signs that summer is here!
Yesterday may have been the first day of summer, but it wasn’t your typical sunny, warm day. We’ve had storms off and on for the last several days.
I think we jumped straight from winter to summer in the last few days. I absolutely loved spending so much time outside this weekend. We rode bikes, grilled, enjoyed a couple meals on the patio, and hung out with friends – all outdoors!

I don’t know anyone who was hoping for snow yesterday morning, but that’s exactly what we got. The sleet and snow, along with the dark morning after Daylight Savings Time, made my Monday morning feel a little … ok, a lot … dreary. Luckily the skies cleared, it warmed up, and the snow melted. I can’t wait for the 70 degree weather later this week!
