What a beautiful morning for the Making Strides Against Cancer Kick-off Breakfast at Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium! A pink sky for a pink event – it couldn’t have been more perfect.

Photo of the Day: A Beautiful Storm
Yesterday brought several rounds of quick, but fierce, thunderstorms through the Kansas City area. Some of my friends posted photos on facebook of some crazy-looking frontal clouds, but unfortunately I was stuck inside work without a good view. Yesterday at sunset, however, there were some storms off in the distance, causing the sky to have a really unique, gorgeous hue.
Photo of the Day: Pink Thumb
My mom gave me a bag of lily bulbs from Aldi for my birthday, and since they were cheap, we weren’t sure if they’d do much of anything. They’ve been slowly growing for a couple of months with just a few small leaves, and then within the last few days huge buds formed on a couple of the plants. And then all of a sudden … this gorgeous flower appeared! Maybe I’m on my way to having a green thumb?
Photo of the Day: Booming Blooms
The petunias in my back yard are booming right now … or blooming like crazy … however you want to say it. They’re gorgeous. I wish the ones out front were doing as well. Either they need more sun or they like to be close together. Anyone know the trick?

Photo of the Day: Can’t Get Enough of Those Spring Flowers
I’m thoroughly enjoying the bright sunny skies and warm temperatures. Yesterday I went for a run through several neighborhoods near my home, and I got to enjoy the scenery with everyone’s flowers and trees blossoming. (Side note: I’m not looking forward to temps plummeting into the 30s later this week.)

Photo of the Day: Hot Pink Flower
The tulips are finally starting to bloom in Kansas City now that we’ve had a few spring-like days.

Photo of the Day: Happy Easter!
Happy Easter! We were happy to host Easter at our house this year – our first chance to “entertain” in our new home.

Making Strides to End Breast Cancer
Last weekend I was an event photographer for the fabulous Making Strides Against Breast Cancer charity walk in Kansas City. It started out chilly , but it turned into a beautiful day. Best of all – the event raised over $322,000 for the American Cancer Society’s fight to end breast cancer! This year I walked the route with my camera, so I got to see some great views of the city flooded in pink.
A world with less breast cancer…
… is a world with more birthdays. Last week I was asked to photograph the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Kickoff Breakfast in Kansas City. It was held at Arrowhead Stadium and it’s a great cause, so I was happy to help out. Making Strides is an American Cancer Society 5k walk benefiting breast cancer. There are events all across the country, so if breast cancer is something you’re passionate about, check out makingstrideswalk.org.

Project 52 Week 32: Translucent Life
Can you tell what kind of flower this is? I noticed its leaf looked translucent when the sun was hitting it a few days ago, so I dropped what I was doing to snap a few photos.
