This is the first time our cat Esme has made the blog in quite awhile. After taking some photos of Baby K with Christmas lights and putting her down for a nap, I returned to the living room to find Esme snuggled up next to the lights. Silly kitty! (Take Two of Baby K and Christmas lights is scheduled for the near future.)
After Monday’s photo, I didn’t want my other cat, Esme, to feel left out!
Unlike the majority of my Facebook friends, I don’t have any back to school photos to share with you. (Unless you’d like to see the bulletin boards in my husband’s classroom.) So I pulled out this photo from my two-year-old archives of our pretty cat, Esme. She looks a little older and a little heavier now, but she’s still just as mischievous.
I’m dedicating today’s photo to my cousin Maryanne, the biggest fan of cats I know. I shot this photo earlier this evening as the light streamed in our kitchen window. The only editing I did was very minor cropping. I couldn’t be happier with my luck getting this shot!
My cat Esme’s new favorite toy is a milk ring. She will play fetch with it over, and over, and over. And over again. She also loves to hide it under rugs and dig it back out. Eventually she chews it up, but once the milk’s gone, she always has a new free toy! Cheap entertainment for her – and for us.
I am so grateful for my little immediate family: my husband and my cat. My cat Esme is sweet, loving, and playful. My husband Jerod is sweet, loving, and playful too … and so much more. He forgives me every time I mess up, and he loves me even when I may not deserve it. I’m a lucky lady.
I didn’t intend to use my cat as my model yet again, but when she started looking up with those big eyes and begging for a treat last night, I couldn’t resist making her beg a little longer while I reached for my camera. (And yes, I did give her the treat after I got the photo. She deserved it!)
Our cat, Esme, hurt her paw a couple of days ago. We aren’t sure what happened, but she’s been limping and favoring her right paw. I’m taking her to the vet tomorrow to figure out what’s wrong. In the meantime, I can’t help but spoil her. Yogurt is her favorite treat!
I need another pet. Maybe a puppy. Or better yet, I need to borrow someone’s child once in a while. Then maybe I would have something cute to take photos of besides my cat. Here she is again, this time getting ready to attack [a pipe cleaner] from behind her favorite hideout.
