Mini Session #3 | Black Hoof Park

Up next…mini session #3 at Black Hoof Park. This one started about an hour before sunset…perfect for golden hour light. This is another family I’ve been taking photos of for years, and they definitely have their smiles down to an art. They make my job easy. Fact: the moms in all three of these mini sessions are sisters!

Mini Session #2 | Black Hoof Park

My second mini session at Black Hoof Park was for this sweet family of five, who I’ve been taking photos of since way back when they got engaged. The girls had a lot of fun choosing their favorite spots and poses this year…and they nailed it. I always love working with them!

Family Portraits | Fall at its Peak

We timed the fall leaves just right for this session – check out the gorgeous tree in this first shot! I love the go-with-the-flow attitude of this family, and their carefree, silly boys. We’ve done portraits together several times, but like many others, I hadn’t seen them since before the pandemic. They’ve grown so much!

Family Portraits | The Iconic Loose Park

Are you even a photographer if you don’t take photos at Loose Park in the fall? I think not, given the number of photographers we encountered at last weekend’s portrait session. It was the perfect evening, the leaves were at their peak, and the roses were still in bloom, so it’s no surprise it was the place to be. Despite all the other people, it was worth it. Loose Park might just have the best fall foliage in all of KC. (My fall wedding photos were even shot there a number of years ago!) Bonus: seeing cousins I hadn’t seen in almost two years! I love, love how these photos turned out, just like I love this family.

My Girls | Fall Portraits

Last week I dragged my family to a random roadside spot I’d been eyeing on a cold evening to take fall portraits. I am obviously biased, but they’re my favorite clients (and also my hardest)! I may or may not have bribed them with IHOP in exchange for letting me pick their outfits and minimal whining. I’m only going to share a few of my girls, ages 4 & 7, because Christmas cards are coming and I don’t want to spoil them!

Family Portraits | On the Streets of Parkville

It’s been awhile since I’ve taken any family portraits – there’s something about humid Kansas summers that turns people away. But fall is here, and I got to shoot three family’s photos this weekend! First up is Lance and Sarah’s family – they are one of my regulars, and we went to one of my favorite spots for fall portraits – downtown Parkville, MO! It’s full of charing storefronts, historic buildings, trains, and fun murals. The boys are adorable, especially when Big Brother loves on Little Brother. Have a look!

Thankful | Family Portraits

As we approach Thanksgiving, I just want to say how thankful I am for all of my clients. You help me grow as a photographer each time you book a session, refer a friend, or even like my work on social media. I’m also thankful for this family – new clients who were open to a new location. They really toughed out cold, windy weather this afternoon, especially after just returning from a trip to Hawaii! I think the end result was worth it.
