Another reason I like this time of year … I get to see the sunrise every morning on my way to work.
Day 269: Come Fly Away
I’m glidin’ in the beautiful sky, it’s such a clear day, oh
Go ridin’ in your sweet lullabies, come fly away, ay oh

Day 268: A trip to the zoo!
I have friends who are on a mission trip in Mozambique, Africa. When they first arrived a few days ago, they got to go on an African Safari where they saw all kinds of wild animals. As much as I’d love to be with them, this is the closest I’ll get for now – a trip to “Africa” and other part of the world at the Kansas City Zoo. Here are my top five favorite photos of the day. Which one is your favorite?
Day 267: Ahh…Autumn
My favorite season has finally arrived! (Ok Fall…could you just stick around for 6 months and bypass winter altogether?) The leaves are just barely starting to turn on this quite downtown Kansas City street.
Day 266: The Duck Lady
Jerod and I ventured outside with some old bread to feed the ducks yesterday, but this sweet little lady beat us to it. Clearly she feeds them on a regular basis, because they stuck to her like white on rice!
Day 265: Is It Fall Yet?
In honor of the first day of fall this week, I broke out the Crock-Pot to make my hot chili recipe. I just love coming home to the smell of food and a prepared dinner!
Day 264: A New Covet
Yesterday was my hubby’s birthday, so we both took the day off to enjoy a little relaxation time. I took him on a surprise tour of the Harley-Davidson factory. He has wanted a motorcycle for quite a while, but seeing all those Harleys has definitely upped his yearning. I keep joking that he can get one after we’ve gotten our [unborn] kids through college.
Day 263: Stop and smell the … vines?
It’s funny how when you stop to look, you can find something beautiful anywhere, even in an urban alleyway.
Days 260-262: Birthdays X’s Three
Big surprise … we were on the go this weekend again. Friday evening we stopped by a tattoo parlor to get a price quote, because my husband and his brother are getting tattoos for their birthdays here in a few weeks. Saturday we drove down to Joplin, Mo. to see Jerod’s friend’s new baby girl, Tynlie, who was born that morning. After a short visit, we went to a bonfire at a family friend’s house in Southeast Kansas. Sunday we celebrated Jerod and Jacob’s birthdays with the family. (Did you know Jerod is a twin?) As usual, we were thoroughly entertained by his niece and nephew. After a long weekend we finally made it home by 10 p.m. Sunday evening, just in time for bed.
Days 257-259: Keep Austin Weird
I traveled to Austin, Texas this week for work. I didn’t carry my camera with me everywhere, but I did manage to continue taking photos every day. We stayed right on the beautiful Lady Bird Lake. Had I hauled my DSLR camera with me on my morning run around the lake, I could have gotten lots of fabulous photos – from swarms of bats, to hundreds of runners, to a beautiful sunrise. I truly love the vibe of this city.
