Day 17: Mmm … roast

We enjoyed the MLK holiday yesterday by doing very little being very productive. Just about all we did was make a roast for my high school friend David, who stopped by to see us yesterday evening. Not to brag…but I think it turned out pretty good. Coming from someone who has little cooking experience.

Day 16: Reunited

A little over a month after my wedding ring got stolen, I got the replacement last week. It was fun playing around with the camera and the new shiny ring.

Day 15: Aging gracefully

I went to see my grandpa in the nursing home yesterday, but since he wasn’t feeling or looking his best, I’m not going to post any photos of him. But I did notice his roommate’s teeth lying on the counter, with his roommate no where to be found. By the way, who intentionally puts a gold tooth in their dentures?

Day 13: That Darn Cat

After at least 30 minutes of trying to shoot my cat, (with the camera, of course) I started to lose patience. Words like, “Sit still!” and, “I hate you!” began flowing from my mouth. Jerod started cursing her too once she broke the skin in four places on his hand. Of course I don’t really hate her. She’s really a very sweet cat, most of the time. She just doesn’t like to have her picture taken. I’ve learned my lesson – next time I’ll wait until she’s sleeping. This is one of the few decent photos I ended up with.

I was originally going to post this photo to show you all the ridiculous amount of ice on the inside of our windows. But it’s not the greatest photo, which is why I spent the evening chasing our cat. No wonder our heating bill is so high!

Day 12: Speaking of Icicles…

On Tuesday there was one icicle about 3 inches long hanging from this roof at work. This was the scene the following day. They were dripping a lot throughout the day, but it’s hard to say if they were melting or growing.

Side note: I’m already learning from this 365 day project. I’ve learned that I don’t always like the aperture open as far as it will go. Looking back, I think this photo would’ve looked better if all the icicles were in focus, not just those in front. What do you think?

Day 11: Snow is Here to Stay

I didn’t spend much time outside in the sub-zero temperatures yesterday, so I just snapped a few quick pictures of the pretty snow outside my work. The icicles that started forming in the morning got much bigger throughout the day – it was interesting to watch them grow.
