Our Glacier National Park vacation started with a couple of days in Seattle and an Amtrak ride to the park. Seattle has so much to offer, but my favorite site was the Chihuly Garden and Glass Gallery at the bottom of the Space Needle. I believe it was a temporary display, so I can’t say whether it’s still there. We actually went twice in one day – once in the afternoon and once after dark. Dale Chihuly is the guy who designed the glass work in the Bellagio in Las Vegas, if you’ve ever been there. His art is absolutely stunning, don’t you think? Have you ever seen his art in person?

I loved watching this sweet mama kangaroo and her joey (in her pouch) resting in the sunlight. Believe it or not, I didn’t even have to zoom in to get this photo – I was actually that close. One of my favorite parts of Tanganyika Wildlife Park was petting the kangaroos. Check out my other photos from Tanganyika if you haven’t seen them yet.

Have you ever looked at the facial expressions of an alpaca? They crack me up every time. It seems like I’ve encountered them on every recent vacation I’ve taken, and I never get tired of them. They were used in the Great Smoky Mountains to carry luggage to a hike-in resort, we stayed on an alpaca ranch in Montana when we went visited Glacier National Park, and they were part of Tanganyika‘s petting zoo last weekend.

(Although I’m posting several days worth of photos from Tanganyika, I am in no way getting paid – the opinions are strictly my own.)

My parents returned form a Mediterranean Cruise a couple of weeks ago and brought me this beautiful hand-crafted ceramic. It couldn’t be more fitting: dolphins are my favorite animals, and they purchased it in Rhodes, Greece. (Get it – Photographic Rhodes?) I think my husband and I (The Rhodes) will definitely have to visit Greece after hearing about their experience and seeing their photos. They’ve graciously shared a couple for me to share with you. Check out that view – now you know why it’s on my bucket list!

Now that they have returned safely, I can finally say that my parents have been on a Mediterranean cruise for the past 10 days. From the brief photos I saw at the airport last night, it looks like I definitely need to add Greece to my bucket list. The cruise started and ended in Rome – one of my favorite cities. I was there exactly two years ago … though it barely feels like two months ago. Italy is one of those countries I think I could visit over and over again.

On our drive home from Atlanta to Kansas City, we stayed in Chattanooga, TN. I booked the hotel in advance knowing nothing about the town; we just needed a place to rest. When we arrived, we were greeted with tons of brochures about Ruby Falls, Lookout Mountain, and zip-lining/ropes courses. All of those sounded fun, but we decided to check out Ruby Falls since it opened the earliest and we had a 10-hour drive ahead of us.
