During our ladies weekend, we had fun with an anti-stress Dead Sea minerals face mask. I figured none of the other women would want their blue faces posted on my blog, so here’s a self-portrait in the mirror.

Last week was so busy, from a Fountain City Brass Band concert, to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, to my wedding anniversary. I haven’t had time to sort through many photos yet, so I’m posting a photo from our quick anniversary self-portrait photo session. We try to take photos every year on our anniversary, so we’ll be able to go back and see how we’ve changed from year-to-year. I don’t think we’ve changed too much yet. 🙂 These will serve as our Christmas photos, too.
By the way, don’t forget that Wednesday is the last day to book your holiday portraits!
Being sick is no fun. This is my first bout with food poisoning, and I certainly hope it’s my last. I spent most of the day yesterday like this.
Now that our big move is over, I can finally de-stress. I’m really looking forward to this Saturday’s Pancreatic Cancer Action Network Hope Gala. I figured it was time to get rid of my blue toenail polish and replace it with a classier red. (If you want to attend, tickets are still available! The event is at Union Station and includes dinner, drinks, silent & live auction, raffle, and music – all for just $75.)
Next month my husband and I will have the privilege of attending our first gala, thanks to a generous birthday gift. We’ll be attending the PANCAN Night of Hope at Union Station. I bought this dress for the occasion about a week ago, and I’ve been meaning to take a photo of it to send to my mom. I figured I might as well turn it into my photo of the day. Now I just need shoes and jewelry … suggestions welcome!
Yesterday my parents dropped off a large plant at my office (another blog post on that later) and took me out to eat at Grunauer, a German restaurant in Kansas City. The space was so cool – old hardwood floors, antique furniture, and huge distressed-looking mirrors. (Not sure if I got the terminology right on that one.) I shot a few photos of the space, but I think this self-portrait is the most unique.
Our apartment complex had our parking lot re-paved yesterday, so I convinced Jerod to play around with some night portraits in the empty parking lot. There was a lot of giggling and a lot of eye-rolling (I’m sure you can guess who was doing what), but I think I ended up with some good photos. I couldn’t decide which type of portrait I liked better, so I’m including two.
Since I didn’t have much going on the last couple of evenings, I decided to play around with self-portraits. I still have a lot to learn, so feedback is welcome.
Yesterday I worked from home for half a day so I could actually concentrate on some online training without any distractions. It was dark & rainy in the morning – perfect weather to stay inside.
