I had a great time meeting and photographing this family last weekend! Little Ace, who just turned one, stole the show with his cute outfits – especially those suspenders and bow tie!

Last weekend’s family portrait session almost got rained out, but the skies parted up just in time. Little Dean just turned two, and I have to say, he did amazing! He posed and smiled perfectly … he must have had his photo taken a time or two before. 🙂 Enjoy these photos from the beautiful Loose Park, and check out how Dean has changed since his one-year shots.

My first spring portrait session is in the books … and it got to be with one of my all-time favorite families! The kids have grown so much since last year’s portrait session. This time, we opted for the Parkville Nature Sanctuary, which made for a great place to shoot even when the sun was still high in the sky. Here are a few of my favorite images.

They’re baacckkk!! The days are long, but the years are short. This family, especially baby Abby, has grown so much in the last year! Check out all the adorableness (is that even a word?) below, then take a peek down memory lane at last year’s session.

This is the first couple I took “professional” photos for – engagement photos over a decade ago. Now, ten years later, I have the honor of shooting their anniversary photos – with Lauren in her beautiful wedding dress (it still fits!), and their three children. I love the idea of re-creating wedding photos to show what has changed, and what hasn’t, over the last decade. I may even steal the idea myself next year. 😉 Congratulations to Lauren and Justin on their 10-year anniversary, and thank you for your continued faith in me to capture your beautiful family!

Last weekend I shot family photos in the Leawood area, and despite the extreme Kansas heat, it didn’t slow down the energy of these adorable boys (or their parents)! I always enjoy shooting photos for this family – they’re so kind and so much fun. And those eyes on the boys!

My second portrait session of the day last weekend was at E.H. Young Park along the Missouri River. It’s definitely a hidden gem…and so is this family! I love them to pieces. They all have such great smiles and beautiful hearts!

This family is too fun – especially little Oliver! Mama doesn’t care for the geese, but he sure has fun feeding them. And he’s such a great big brother to little Ben. I feel honored that they continue to ask me to capture moments of their family as the kids grow.

I’m excited to welcome back one of my most loyal families. I’ve taken photos for them since their engagement – now their oldest is six and their youngest is almost three! It’s fun to watch the kiddos grow from the photographer’s perspective and see how much easier portrait sessions get as they mature. Although I always love a little bit of crazy thrown in!

Last weekend I met up with one my regular families for their yearly photos. Even though we planned them a little earlier in the season, it was still cold! Last year, I helped take photos for a birth announcement. This year, they have a sweet new baby boy, just two days older than my baby girl. They always pick fun locations – this time we headed to Kaw Point for a view of the downtown KC skyline. I planned it for perfect golden hour lighting, but it was foggy with no sun in sight. Luckily we still got some keepers!
