Palm Sunday Portraits

Lil’ Miss K was hesitant to parade down the aisle for Palm Sunday in front of the entire congregation, but by the end of church and Sunday school yesterday, she couldn’t stop dancing around with her palm. She even told us how Jesus rode on a donkey and people laid down their palms for him. I love this girl and her enthusiasm and eagerness to learn.

Photo of the Day: Birthday Girl

My sweet Lil’ Miss K is three today! Where has the time gone? She’s quickly turning into a smart, independent, “threenager.” Her favorite food is mac ‘n cheese, her favorite color is orange, her favorite letter is O … she hasn’t wavered from these favs for almost a year. She’s obsessed with Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood and can reenact an episode after watching it only once or twice. She loves singing and putting on goofy dances shows, and her favorite toy is her imagination. She’s pretty good at throwing a ball, too. I can have adult conversations with her, but I quickly remember she’s still a toddler when she starts to have a meltdown. We love this opinionated girl to pieces!

Check out how she’s changed since her last photo four months ago.

See how tall she’s gotten since last year!

Playing with Friends

We had some friends and their 4-month-old over last weekend. Lil’ Miss K gets a little jealous when I hold him (ok, a lot jealous), but she started opening up to the idea of him when she got to play with his “fan toy” with him.

She’s even better at playing with her stuffed animal “friends” – she set up a whole indoor picnic for them the next day! It was nice to have a weekend not packed with plans – time to play at home and enjoy our girl.

Portrait Session | She’s three? How can that be?

This little girl is growing up way too fast. She’s a ball of energy with a lot of sass and a lot to say. She couldn’t be any cuter! I’ve had the pleasure of taking her photos since she was an infant, so I love looking back to see how she’s changed. Since she has a late fall birthday, we utilized our newly remodeled church, which has great natural light.

To be Two…

Oh, to be two and carefree again … I love the joy in my Lil’ Miss K’s face every time we go to the park. It’s about to turn cold here, so I probably won’t be taking any more of these photos for a few months.

Photo of the Day: Two and Three Quarters

My Lil’ Miss K is just 4 months away from being 3 years old. Hard to believe she’s closer to 3 than she is to 2. I love how much she talks – we have real, back-and-forth, conversations all the time. I also love some of the words she mispronounces – “chlocate” instead of “chocolate,” “hangaber” instead of “hamburger,” “cup-ul-der” instead of “cup holder.” I need to write all these cute little things down so I never forget. I see the wheels turning in her brain every day as she learns something new. Love it!

See how she’s changed since her last photo 4 months ago. (She’s still a tomboy who loves her tennis shoes and hates her hair in piggy tails.)

Sunflowers for Miles

I was so excited when this family reached out to me to take photos at Ted Grinter’s Sunflower Field near Lawrence, Kansas. I had wanted to take pictures there last year but didn’t have the opportunity. Farmer Ted plants acres and acres of sunflowers and lets the public come visit and take photos free of charge. What an amazing place!

The beautiful views, coupled with the little guy’s huge smiles and adorable dimples, made for an awesome photo shoot. I have so many favorite images from this session! This is just a handful.
