Happy Easter! We were happy to host Easter at our house this year – our first chance to “entertain” in our new home.

We’ve all been complaining about how unusually cold & snowy this spring has been so far. How many of you in the Midwest remember that it snowed this time two years ago? Yep, I was going through my archives and came upon this photo to prove it. Luckily we had a nice warm up today!

Here’s another still life of a daffodil. This photo reminds me of my Alma Mater, Pitt State, with its crimson & gold colors.

I shot the photo below this time last year. Oh, how I’m wishing for this again!

This is the first snowstorm in our new home. I was hoping it wouldn’t come until next winter; now I just hope it’s the last one until next winter. The funny thing is that we never owned a snow shovel at our apartment, and since all the hardware and garden stores are prepped for spring, no one has them for sale. We’re now proud owners of a “manure shovel,” which will hopefully work great for snow removal and never manure removal.

I won’t even express my opinion about yesterday’s snow and the eight more inches expected to pound Kansas City tomorrow. At the end of March. During Spring. Ok, maybe there was a little bit of opinion in that statement. But here’s a photo of beautiful spring daffodils … in the snow.

This delicate little tree bud was covered in snow and ice earlier this week during “Winter Storm Q.”

As I edited this week’s photos, I noticed that I spent most of my time shooting flowers and trees. It rained for about 5 days straight this past week, but whenever it wasn’t pouring, it was hard not to notice all the beautiful blooming flowers and budding trees. Spring has definitely arrived! I chose this as my photo of the week because it isn’t the typical tulip or daffodil shot.
Last week I mentioned that I may go after Easter shopping since I have almost no spring decorations. Well, I wasn’t joking. I found several cute items at Target yesterday for half off! This spring sign may be my favorite $3 find! Just a side note: this photo was taken with my new lens; a birthday gift from my parents!
