This portrait session … dogs and all … was done and dusted in just 20 minutes! I have a few more mini sessions available this fall – just reach out to book! (You may recognize this family by now…I’ve been taking their photos since all their littles were babies!)

Family Portraits | A little red and a little blue
I always love the energy this family brings to their portraits … and how laid back they are. When the little ones want jewels on their face or have to be woken up for portraits, they roll with it. The results are “real life” shots … perfect in their own way! They’ll be so fun to look back on a few years from now.
Fall portraits | A perfect golden hour
I looove when I have the opportunity to meet new clients. This family was so much fun to capture! The girls were the sweetest, and it was extra-special to have a few pictures with their grandma and nana, too. Without further ado, here are a few gems from the evening.
Newborn Photos | Little Willow
I’m excited to share these final photos of 2023 with you … and what better way to wrap up the year than with a sweet newborn? Little Willow was about six weeks old when I took these photos last weekend – the perfect age for bright eyes and glimmers of smiles. We had the best backdrop too – a beautiful Victorian family home. I’ve had so much fun editing these!
Thank you to all of my friends, family, clients, and followers for another wonderful year. Happy holidays … see you in 2024!
Family Portraits | Adventures at Turkey Creek
When I approached this family about doing photos at the Turkey Creek waterfall, I had a feeling they’d be on board. They’re one of the most adventurous families I know – taking their kids on campouts and hikes from the time they were infants. They strapped on their waders and scaled the rocks like pros to get to the perfect spot. And I have to say…I think the end result was worth it!
Family Portraits | Ernie Miller Nature Center
I’ve been obsessing over these photos since I’ve edited them. It’s not uncommon for little ones to get camera shy, cry, simply refuse to smile, or even have meltdowns during photos. It may be their first time taking professional photos with a stranger and a large lens, or they might not remember me from a previous year. Almost ALL of my regular clients have had kids go through this phase. You are NOT alone. And I promise we’ll still get some great shots if you stick with me.
Mini Session #4 | Black Hoof Park
My final mini session of the evening a couple weeks ago happened right before sunset, which gave it a cooler, wintery feel … with a bonus sunset backdrop! I loved getting to know these new clients – they were so gracious and perfect to work with!
Mini Session #3 | Black Hoof Park
Up next…mini session #3 at Black Hoof Park. This one started about an hour before sunset…perfect for golden hour light. This is another family I’ve been taking photos of for years, and they definitely have their smiles down to an art. They make my job easy. Fact: the moms in all three of these mini sessions are sisters!
Mini Session #2 | Black Hoof Park
My second mini session at Black Hoof Park was for this sweet family of five, who I’ve been taking photos of since way back when they got engaged. The girls had a lot of fun choosing their favorite spots and poses this year…and they nailed it. I always love working with them!
Mini Session #1 | Black Hoof Park
Last weekend I did a few back-to-back mini sessions at Black Hoof Park – one of my favorite places to shoot due to the variety of landscapes close together. You’ll see as I post these sessions how different they all look, due to lighting & location. Up first is the Talley family – one of my regulars!
