Photographic Prints for Relay For Life

I’ve been team captain for our Relay For Life team for several years, so I’m constantly trying to come up with creative fundraisers. Last year I decided to try my hand at selling photographic prints, and I raised about $250 with that fundraiser. Not too bad! Naturally I want to beat that number this year. If you like my photography, please consider purchasing a photographic print. You can pick one of the Kansas City photos below, or you can pick any photo from my blog. Visit etsy.com to place an order. And if you don’t want a print but you still hate cancer, the American Cancer Society and I will happily accept donations to Relay For Life. Thank you for your continued support!

Project 52 Week 49: Kansas City’s Claim to Fame

After living near Kansas City my entire life, I finally took time to photograph the famous Country Club Plaza holiday lights. I had planned to take photos Friday evening after watching the Christmas Carol nearby, but some much-needed rain put a damper on my plans. Saturday evening I made a point to go back to the Plaza, taking photos in several locations. Here are just a couple of shots. I’ll have a few Plaza prints for sale in a few months as a Relay For Life fundraiser.

Day 328: Seven Days of Thankfulness (Day 4)

In addition to my family and my job, I’m thankful for where I live. I love Kansas City – it’s not too big, not too small; most of my friends and family live nearby; and we have some great holiday traditions. The Country Club Plaza Lighting Ceremony tradition began 81 years ago. Believe it or not, this was the first year I’ve seen it.  And with such warm weather, it had to be one of the best years!
