It rained most of the day yesterday, which resulted in a lot of puddles around the apartment. Sometimes a stream builds near our patio, but luckily we didn’t have enough rain for that.

We used to look for the first robins each year as a sign of spring, but this year, I saw them all winter long. I’m not sure what that means, but it can’t be good for them. I found this guy near my office yesterday.

Day 38: Twilight

I recently learned about the different phases of twilight. This photo was taken during what is called nautical twilight, when the sun is between 6-12 degrees below the horizon, or about 30 minutes to an hour after sunset. You can still see some color off in the distance, which can generate some beautiful photos. Especially when the moon is so bright!

Day 32: Blizzard 2011, Part 2

Yesterday was definitely a blizzard, just as the meteorologists predicted. The snow was blowing so hard it drifted a couple feet tall into the hallways between apartment buildings, and by the time it was over, it practically buried some of the parked cars.

Omaha and the Zoo

We traveled to Omaha, Nebraska last weekend for a short trip, and we had a great time at the zoo! Downtown Omaha is such a fun place, with the zoo, Old Market, Omaha Union Station, the Riverfront, and so much more!
