Ah, the epitome of spring. This is one of my favorite photos from this season so far … can you name the flower?

My husband, dad, and I had tickets to the Royals baseball game last Friday. You may have seen my grumblings about the snow, or if you live in the Midwest you were probably grumbling with me. The game was postponed and rescheduled for Monday at 1:10 p.m. Unfortunately my husband couldn’t go since he’s a teacher, but thanks to my accumulated personal days, I was able to go with my retired parents. For once, the weather was perfect. Despite the fact that we lost in the 11th inning to the White Sox, it was actually a really exciting game … for baseball. 🙂

This is part of an adorable housewarming gift we received recently. I can’t wait for it to warm up (for good!) so I can add this little guy to my garden.

Looking out my window today at work….
Me: God, is that SNOW?
God: Why yes, yes it is.
Me: But … WHY?
God: I work in mysterious ways.

It’s funny how babies will sleep through anything – even a mob of 2,500 people at a 5k run.

Kansas City is known for its vast number of fountains, second only to Rome. This fountain in the Quality Hill district is one of my favorites.

In honor of my birthday today, would you please consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society Relay For Life? The Society is celebrating its 100th birthday next month, and it’s the official sponsor of birthdays, so the cause couldn’t be a better fit. I’m just a few hundred dollars away from my $1000 goal. Every amount helps!

The tulips are finally starting to bloom in Kansas City now that we’ve had a few spring-like days.

As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, this past weekend we attended Purple Stride, a Pancreatic Cancer Action Network 5k. After seeing my twin cousins’ facial expressions in this photo from the event, I couldn’t help but share it. If you wrote your own caption, what would it say?
