Sticking with tradition, Lil’ Miss K turned twenty-two months old a week ago, but I just now got around to taking her monthly photo. (Had to get a true comparison, right?) Has she changed since last month? It’s hard for me to tell. I think maybe her hair has grown a little. I can hardly believe she’ll be two in February. At that point I’ll switch to quarterly photos.
Due to a 36-hour rain shower this weekend, we had to move this family’s photo shoot indoors. Luckily they had a great suggestion of a unique indoor location – Bass Pro Shop! I was a little unsure how it would go with the crowds and the lighting, but I think we were all really happy with how the shoot went. I had such a great time getting to know this energetic and creative family!
We have been blessed with unseasonably warm weather in Missouri these last few days, and I’m soaking it up – especially when it comes to portrait sessions! This weekend’s December portrait session turned out great with warm weather and a fun, photogenic family. I loved their family dynamic – always joking, going with the flow, and just having a good time, even if the thought of portraits sounded a little terrifying. Here’s a sneak peek!
I’ve found my new favorite portrait location in Kansas City. I knew the West Bottoms would be a gem, but I was just waiting for the right family to go for it. I hadn’t seen these high school friends in over a decade, so it was fun to catch up and meet their kiddos. They did a super job just being themselves, which made my job pretty darn easy. Here are just a few of my favorites.
Sweet little Heidi is already two! Since she’s only about 3 months older than my daughter, I’m a little reminiscent about her growing up so quickly. I’ve had the pleasure of photographing her 6 month and 1 year photos too. She gets more adorable every time, which I didn’t think was possible!
I had the pleasure of shooting portraits at one of my favorite locations this weekend – downtown Parkville, Missouri! The quaint shops, small-town feel, and friendly people make it a perfect spot. And this sweet family of three were all troopers, despite the temps barely above freezing.
Lil’ Miss K turned 21 months last Sunday, but after church, nap time, and shooting another family’s portraits, there was no time for a photo of her. During the week I traveled for work, so we were about a week late before we took her monthly photo. Aside from a little more hair – I don’t think she’s changed much since last month.
I had such a great time taking portraits for this energetic family yesterday. My husband teaches with “Miss M,” and I joke that I didn’t know her first name for at least a year, since he tends to call his coworkers by the same names the students use. Despite the chilly temperatures and brisk wind, these two feisty, fun kids did a great job posing and being themselves. (Mom and Dad did pretty well, too.) I’m so happy with how these turned out – I can’t wait to edit the rest!
I got to spend my beautiful Saturday morning chasing around these two cuties! They are so lucky to get to grow up together as cousins, living close together and hanging out all the time. They couldn’t be any more adorable – especially with their matching sock monkeys and sweaters!
I’m taking a quick break from my professional photos to peek into our lives this afternoon. Lil’ Miss K always falls asleep on the way home from church, but usually she wakes up when we get her out of the car. Today however, she was so worn out she stayed asleep on Daddy, which gave me a rare opportunity to capture this sweet moment.
