Today is my grandma’s 92nd birthday! She lives on the other side of the state, but luckily we had time to make the long round-trip drive yesterday to wish her a happy birthday. I’m glad she did – she was all smiles!

I had the pleasure of photographing this fun mama and her four spunky kids last weekend. We did something completely different – starting in downtown Kansas City’s Rivermarket and taking the new (free!) street car to the Crossroads to shoot more photos there. We even got a shot on the street car! I would love to shoot senior portraits all along the street car route. Class of 2017: who’s with me?

After posting photos of Lil’ Miss K monthly for the first two years of her life, I decided to switch to recording once every three months. But then I forgot…so now we’re doing once every four months. My, how she’s changed since her second birthday!
Speaking of change, I’ve been a little MIA lately. Between a vacation to Peru, a new job, several portrait sessions, and preparing for Relay For Life, I’ve been busy – to say the least! And each one of those deserves it’s own blog post. Stay tuned!

We had perfect weather yesterday evening for family portraits! You’d never guess it, but this mamma of two boys was nervous about them not sitting still and posing for photos. Don’t they look like sweet angels? Well, they are, but they’re also very busy. But that’s normal and that’s ok! We made it fun by moving around and making silly faces…and still got great photos.

I loved working with this family last fall, and I couldn’t be happier that they asked me to do their extended family portraits this spring! Kansas City’s Liberty Memorial is a great place for photos – the obvious iconic memorial, the city skyline, the steps and stone, and the greenery offer a ton of variety. I was pumped that they had a few of their own ideas for fun poses. And what’s not to love about mint green Chuck Taylor’s?

Warmer, longer days are upon us, which means it’s a great time for spring portraits! I’m offering a Spring Special: book a basic portrait session by the end of April, and you’ll get five additional high-resolution edited images for the same price. The portrait session is good April-June. Contact me now to secure your spot!
He is risen indeed. Happy Easter, snow and all!

No, this isn’t my pregnancy announcement!
I had the pleasure of taking photos and creating a pregnancy announcement for one of my favorite couples. I am beyond excited that they are expecting their first baby in August! They are the most deserving couple you’ll ever meet, and I know without a shadow of a doubt that they’re going to be amazing parents.
They are avid backpackers, so we took a hike to one of their favorite trees, stopping for several photo ops along the way. We had to get the perfect moment in the perfect spot. And I’m so glad we did, because I think these turned out just right!

I say it time and time again, but I can’t get over how quickly time flies, especially when it comes to babies. This little guy is celebrating his first birthday in a few weeks. He was one of the happiest, most easy-going one-year-olds I’ve ever taken photos of. Plus, he couldn’t get any cuter. Makes my job easy!

Since Lil’ Miss K loves kitties and doesn’t watch cartoons, I chose Hello Kitty for her birthday theme. We kept it pretty simple this year with immediate family, simple decorations, and an easy (but cute!) cake. Her favorite gift was a baby stroller to push her babies in, but my favorite was her new Strider bike!
