I had a great time meeting and photographing this family last weekend! Little Ace, who just turned one, stole the show with his cute outfits – especially those suspenders and bow tie!

Miss M |Twenty-two Months
Our little ball of fire turned twenty-two months old yesterday. She’s as opinionated and ornery as they come. Everyone tells us “this is a fun age” – and they are so right. We love her to pieces!
See how she’s changed since last month.
(Those curls are sure getting more prominent – and I love it!)
Miss M Turns One
My baby is ONE! My emotions aren’t sure whether to be excited or sad about my littlest turning one today. I think it’s a mix of both. She’s had a busy week with 4th of July festivities, and she’s got a busy weekend ahead with her big birthday party. She’s now drinking cow’s milk from a sippy cup, climbing up everything (like up and over the couch), standing up from the floor, and taking a few steps! She’s starting to say more words with meaning now – it’s fun to have two-way communication with her!
Check out how she’s changed since last month. Since this is her last “first year” photo, I’ll be moving away from the rocking chair pics to photos standing with Daddy, like we did with big sis.
Portrait Session | one.
I feel like I just shot 6-month photos of this little guy … and now he’s ONE! He is one stylin’ kid – and the West Bottoms turned out to be a perfect backdrop. The balloons may have blown away and it was way too cold for a cake smash, but we still got smiles and loads of cuteness!
First Birthday – West Bottoms
I loved photographing Eli and his family in the West Bottoms this past weekend. It seems like his parents were just bringing him home, but he already celebrated his first birthday. He’s the happiest, smiley-est (yes, I said smiley-est) baby in town! He and his fun parents made my job easy. What a cutie!

Caleb Turns One
I say it time and time again, but I can’t get over how quickly time flies, especially when it comes to babies. This little guy is celebrating his first birthday in a few weeks. He was one of the happiest, most easy-going one-year-olds I’ve ever taken photos of. Plus, he couldn’t get any cuter. Makes my job easy!
Lil’ Miss K | Spring Photo Shoot
My daughter’s daycare does “school” photos twice a year. I sent her to school with her Easter dress, hoping to buy a cute pose for the grandparents to hang on their wall. We ended up with four proofs – the one everyone liked the most was the one with a giant tear in her eye. She cried the entire time! So, I set up a sheet and had an impromptu photo shoot in the middle of our dining room right while we were all trying to get our Easter meal together. (The light was good!) Luckily my family expects no less of me – they were patient and supportive and kept cooking right around us. Lil’ Miss K wasn’t very smiley since I was delaying her lunch and nap, but I still got a few cute shots.
Photo(s) of the Day: Cake Smash!
Baby K had a great time devouring her first birthday cake! It took her a bit of time to figure out what to do, and the cake was a little too dense for her to make big mess, but she definitely enjoyed each bite!
A big thank you to my friend Mandy for taking my camera and doing a fantastic job capturing these priceless memories.
Photo of the Day: Happy Birthday Baby K!
I couldn’t help but get a little sentimental today, thinking about each part of this day exactly one year ago. From the (gratefully) quick labor, to holding her in my arms for the first time, to that first night (of many) with almost no sleep. Then I think about how far we’ve come this past year, and where we’re heading. It seems like each age gets more fun, yet there are always challenges. There may have even been a sleepless night or two when I swore I would never have another kid. Luckily things always look brighter in the morning. This poor girl has been to the doctor close to 20 times with reflux, milk allergies, a broken bone, and normal baby sicknesses.
But the good absolutely outweighs all of that. She still loves to snuggle and fall asleep in our arms. She’s awesome at going for stroller rides when we jog. She kind of likes to play with her ball, her piano, and a handful of other toys. She really likes to play with boxes, paper, coasters, and cell phones. Most of all, she likes to play with Daddy. She’s known for being the smallest baby with the biggest appetite…her favorite foods being bananas and bread (though she’ll eat most anything). Though we don’t understand a lot of what she says yet, she loves to talk.
I can’t wait for what the future holds. I wonder what her interests will be, what she’ll look like, what she’ll sound like. Not that any of those things matter – I couldn’t love her more if I tried. Happy birthday, baby!
(Check out her 11-month photo here. More first birthday photos to come.)
