Family Photos | Fall at the Nelson-Atkins

I love how photos can be taken at the same location, two different times of year, two different families, and you get very different photoshoots. We met at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and did our best trying to avoid all the other photoshoots and wedding parties. So while there aren’t the iconic columns and shuttlecocks in these photos, I absolutely love the setting and the way this family let me into their busy, beautiful lives.

Family Portraits | Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art

My most recent outdoor session couldn’t have been more perfect weather! We went to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, and I quickly remembered why it makes one of the best portrait locations in the city. You’ve got urban designs, ornate structures, art sculptures, and beautiful nature all rolled into one. I never get tired of photographing this family and watching their kiddos grow – much too quickly – each year!

Portrait Session | Miss Sophia

I couldn’t wait to get home and start editing photos from this afternoon’s photo session with sweet Sophia! She was so energetic, cooperative, and adorable. Of course, we met on the hottest day of the year thus far, but we tried to stay out of the sun as much as we could. We did her photo shoot at one of my favorite locations – the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. Take a look back at the photos I took of her when she was just a baby!

Day 282: Love Is In The Air

Here are a few sneak peek photos from Saturday’s engagement photo shoot with Jennifer & Brian at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. I’ve known Jennifer since 5th grade, but it was great to finally meet Brian and see how happy they are together. And despite what they may say, they’re so photogenic!

(For those who don’t know, I do portraits in the Kansas City area. First-time customers can get the sitting fee and a high-res CD for $99.)
