Last weekend I did three mini sessions back-to-back in the same park. You’ll see from the next three posts how different the setting can look, from spot to spot and family to family. I’ve known and adored this family for a few years, and I’m so glad they reached out for photos! We may have had some fun skipping across the bridge … I can’t wait to surprise them with those photos!

I tried out a new-to-me park for photos last weekend, and it was a keeper! Erfurt Park in Shawnee has lots of shade, a bridge, pond, pretty grasses, and open field … all a short walk from the parking lot. But can we talk about how adorable this family is? They have the sweetest smiles and infectious laughs!

It’s true what they say…the early bird gets the worm. This is one of my few families who are willing to do the early morning photoshoots. And boy, does it pay off with amazing lighting. The sun shining through the trees, no shadows to deal with, that golden hue … plus the most adorable family!

This was such a fun, new-to-me location to take photos! The original bridge dates back to 1859, but a little over 10 years ago, rather than the city demolishing it, it was turned into a pedestrian bridge where people could add their love locks. And this family has so much love to give..making it the perfect spot for their family pics.

Well, hello there! My schedule is filling up with fall photos … and this session kicked off my busy season. It’s been a few years since I took photos at the Kauffman Center, and I’d forgotten how perfect it is for portraits. It may have been hot, and windy, and sticky outside, but it was so much fun capturing this moment in time with this extended family.
