This delicate little tree bud was covered in snow and ice earlier this week during “Winter Storm Q.”

What is it with ice hockey and fights? Sometimes I wonder if they’re really that much more angry than other athletes. Either way, it makes for an entertaining sport. We had a great time watching the Missouri Mavericks smear the Arizona Sundogs Saturday night. Best of all – the proceeds from our tickets went to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network – a cause dear to my heart.

The media is calling it “Blizzard 2011,” and they claim it’s coming in three parts. Yesterday was the freezing rain, today is the massive amounts of snowfall and wind, and the next couple of days are the frigid temperatures. Here is an account of small ice accumulation from yesterday’s rain.
