Mini Session #3 | Black Hoof Park

Up next…mini session #3 at Black Hoof Park. This one started about an hour before sunset…perfect for golden hour light. This is another family I’ve been taking photos of for years, and they definitely have their smiles down to an art. They make my job easy. Fact: the moms in all three of these mini sessions are sisters!

Mini Session #1 | Black Hoof Park

Last weekend I did a few back-to-back mini sessions at Black Hoof Park – one of my favorite places to shoot due to the variety of landscapes close together. You’ll see as I post these sessions how different they all look, due to lighting & location. Up first is the Talley family – one of my regulars!

Family Portraits | Liberty Memorial

I believe one of the things that makes my portrait sessions different, is that I love shooting at different places and finding unique vantage points. That’s exactly what we did last weekend at Liberty Memorial. There were several photographers set up with the iconic skyline in the background, and while we shot there too, I love the photos we got in other spots – the fountain, mosaic walls, and the actual memorial in the background. These silly kids made the session….and editing…so much fun. Little Kendrix made all the silly faces!

Engagement Photos | Big Hill Lake

Last weekend was a nice change of pace – I got to take engagement photos of my brother-in-law and future sister-in-law in Southeast Kansas. Big Hill Lake is beautiful this time of year, with the tall stone bridge, sparkling lake, and colorful fall leaves. And my subjects were pretty fun, too. Especially after they got used to that unnatural feeling of acting natural together while someone shoots photos of you. I love how these turned out…it was so hard to narrow them down!

Family Portraits | Fall at its Peak

We timed the fall leaves just right for this session – check out the gorgeous tree in this first shot! I love the go-with-the-flow attitude of this family, and their carefree, silly boys. We’ve done portraits together several times, but like many others, I hadn’t seen them since before the pandemic. They’ve grown so much!

Family Portraits | Lake Olathe

This mama and I became fast friends through our kids a few years ago, so I was super excited and honored when she asked me to take their family photos. I love these kids and how they can be real around me. We got some great facial expressions, silly photos, and true authentic shots! These are just a handful of my favorites from the session. (And aren’t the fall colors gorgeous?)
