Photo(s) of the Day: Sugar High

Last weekend my friend Julie and I invited over our friends’ four young boys for some Christmas cookie decorating. (Actually, she did the hosting, and I just tagged along for support.) The boys were so active and fun, and as you can see, we had our hands full! Props to both mammas for having energy to take care of these sweet little balls of energy every day.

Photo of the Day: Ginger Cookies

My attempt at my grandma’s gingerbread cookies yesterday was semi-successful. The flavor was great, but they were too thin. If I call them gingersnaps instead of gingerbread cookies, I think they’re perfect! (As you can tell, I need to work on my icing techniques, too.)

Day 342: Candy Cane Land

A few nights ago I pulled out a family recipe book to make some cookies for our holiday party at work. I thought I’d try something different and cute, so I decided to make candy cane cookies. Several hours later  … I finally finished forming the last one. They were cute, but I could tell the recipe came from a stay-at-home mom. Or maybe I’m just a slow baker. If you  have lots of free time, I’d be happy to send you the recipe.

Day 300: A week full of surprises

When we got home yesterday evening, we had package of homemade Halloween cookies waiting for us in the mailbox. And they were still in once piece! Thanks to my thoughtful family for including us when we couldn’t be there for the cookie decorating. Have I mentioned how much I love this time of year? 🙂
