They’re baacckkk!! The days are long, but the years are short. This family, especially baby Abby, has grown so much in the last year! Check out all the adorableness (is that even a word?) below, then take a peek down memory lane at last year’s session.
This is the first couple I took “professional” photos for – engagement photos over a decade ago. Now, ten years later, I have the honor of shooting their anniversary photos – with Lauren in her beautiful wedding dress (it still fits!), and their three children. I love the idea of re-creating wedding photos to show what has changed, and what hasn’t, over the last decade. I may even steal the idea myself next year. 😉 Congratulations to Lauren and Justin on their 10-year anniversary, and thank you for your continued faith in me to capture your beautiful family!
I’m excited to welcome back one of my most loyal families. I’ve taken photos for them since their engagement – now their oldest is six and their youngest is almost three! It’s fun to watch the kiddos grow from the photographer’s perspective and see how much easier portrait sessions get as they mature. Although I always love a little bit of crazy thrown in!
Last weekend I took photos of my most loyal customers at a new location to us – Lake Lenexa.! Even though the fall leaves weren’t quite at peak yet, the colors and the setting were gorgeous. And I snapped a few extras of their sweet, independent girl – who is almost three!

This handsome guy is starting kindergarten in the fall! He started out a little shy, but it turn’s out he has a great smile. He looks like he could be modeling for Children’s Place in a couple of these shots. What a fun, cute, kid! These were taken at Crown Center in Kansas City.
I had the privilege of shooting photos for this fun family this weekend. I’ve been doing photos for them since they got engaged about six years ago! I’ve come a long way as a photographer since then. The entire family is so photogenic – it’s never hard to walk away with a ton of great pics. I also got to do the little one’s one-year photos … more on that to come!
Happy 10th birthday to my nephew! We celebrated his birthday this weekend with a Minecraft theme, and as you can see he was pretty excited about it.
Ok, so I’m a little biased. I did a portrait session for my in-laws last week, and I can’t help but think these kids (my 6-year-old niece and 4-year-old nephew) are pretty cute. Their best features? Beth’s pretty smile and Caleb’s ornery facial expressions.Which photo is your favorite?

Monkey bars were most definitely not my favorite piece of playground equipment growing up. In fact, I couldn’t even hold myself up to make my way across them. A couple of days ago, my husband and I took a moment on our walk to play on the monkey bars at a nearby park since there were no kids in sight. Much to my satisfaction, I can now monkey across them. (Is that the right verbiage?)
