This little kitty was watching me very apprehensively as I approached my apartment stairs a couple of days ago. Unfortunately it was getting dark and I only had a moment to snap the photo before he took off, so it’s a bit grainy.

A photo of our friends’ sweet dog, Ginger.

This is my favorite photo of my friend Julie’s dog from a holiday portrait session we did last week. Check out that tongue. Isn’t she adorable?
My second-favorite cat, behind my beloved Esme, is my sister’s cat Miles. I like to call him Miles-Smiles. What I love about him is that he just sits and stares at you while you snap his photo; he isn’t a blur like Esme. (But I guess he is about 12 years older than her.) Should I have posted a more traditional head-on shot, or do you like this unique crop?
For some odd reason, I’ve been wanting to capture a photo of a squirrel for months. I’m not sure why; maybe it’s just the thrill of photographing something that’s so fast and sneaky. On a walk yesterday, I finally caught my break!
I didn’t intend to use my cat as my model yet again, but when she started looking up with those big eyes and begging for a treat last night, I couldn’t resist making her beg a little longer while I reached for my camera. (And yes, I did give her the treat after I got the photo. She deserved it!)
I have friends who are on a mission trip in Mozambique, Africa. When they first arrived a few days ago, they got to go on an African Safari where they saw all kinds of wild animals. As much as I’d love to be with them, this is the closest I’ll get for now – a trip to “Africa” and other part of the world at the Kansas City Zoo. Here are my top five favorite photos of the day. Which one is your favorite?
