The winery we visited this weekend not only had sheep to mow the grass, but chickens to kill the pests.

This weekend my husband and I visited Jowler Creek Winery for a tour and tasting. One of my favorite parts (besides the wine) was watching the sheep bound toward our guide as she banged the food bucket. They have sheep at the winery to “mow” the many acres of grass.

My husband and I started dating 6 years ago today, so I thought I’d share a photo from that first date. We’ve sure changed a lot since then!

I snapped a few photos earlier this week of the Kansas City skyline from the downtown airport. This is one of my favorites, because a plane was taking off at just the right moment.

This is another shot of Ginger from her impromptu photo shoot on Sunday. What does her facial expression say to you?

This little kitty was watching me very apprehensively as I approached my apartment stairs a couple of days ago. Unfortunately it was getting dark and I only had a moment to snap the photo before he took off, so it’s a bit grainy.

I took this photo Monday evening as the sun began to set. It isn’t your typical sunset photo, but I loved the spotty clouds drifting across the sky.

A photo of our friends’ sweet dog, Ginger.

We watched the Super Bowl with some devout Ravens fans last night, which made the game a bit more exciting than usual. (Our Chiefs never make it to the Super Bowl, so we’re never than enthused about either team.) There were a few tense moments in the 2nd half, but lucky for our friends, the Ravens pulled it out.

We may have been far from the stage, but everyone around us still had a great time at last Friday’s concert. And tickets were $10 – you can’t beat that!
