I’m proud to say this pansy is part of my flower garden. It’s the first time I’ve been able to say that, since this is first year I’ve had a house and a garden. Here’s to keeping it alive!!

The best days are days spent with family. This weekend we had a full house with my dad’s side of the family, which included 9 adults and 8 kids. My cousin Cyndie’s children all have the most beautiful big, blue eyes. Ruthie is the youngest of 6, and her newborn photos were featured on my blog in October. She’s sure growing fast!

Here are a few photos from Thursday’s newborn/family session. I’ve had the privilege of photographing this family from engagement to their first and second children, and I couldn’t be happier. What a beautiful family!

I couldn’t wait to post this cute photo of Ellie & Annie during Annie’s newborn portraits yesterday. Little Annie, despite making her way into the world a few weeks early and only being a couple of weeks old, was determined to stay awake through the entire photo shoot! I can’t wait to share more photos with you tomorrow.

In case yesterday’s photo wasn’t bright enough, today I bring you to the center of a bright yellow tulip.

Ah, the epitome of spring. This is one of my favorite photos from this season so far … can you name the flower?

My husband, dad, and I had tickets to the Royals baseball game last Friday. You may have seen my grumblings about the snow, or if you live in the Midwest you were probably grumbling with me. The game was postponed and rescheduled for Monday at 1:10 p.m. Unfortunately my husband couldn’t go since he’s a teacher, but thanks to my accumulated personal days, I was able to go with my retired parents. For once, the weather was perfect. Despite the fact that we lost in the 11th inning to the White Sox, it was actually a really exciting game … for baseball. 🙂

This is part of an adorable housewarming gift we received recently. I can’t wait for it to warm up (for good!) so I can add this little guy to my garden.

Looking out my window today at work….
Me: God, is that SNOW?
God: Why yes, yes it is.
Me: But … WHY?
God: I work in mysterious ways.
