I was SO excited after capturing this photo – it’s perfect representation of our Relay For Life event on Friday night. It was a huge success – our event raised over $76,000, my team raised over $4600, and I raised over $1000 for the American Cancer Society. Photo(s) of the Day: Exotic Animal Interaction
A couple of days ago I posted photos of a cheetah and a giraffe from Tanganyika Wildlife Park. I had to share some photos of my husband and me at the park too, just so you could see how interactive it is! Maybe it’s just because I love animals so much, but this was one of the best times I’ve had in quite a while. The animal feedings were a bit pricey, but it was worth it for the experience. More photos to come of the animals, too.
(Although I’m posting several days worth of photos from Tanganyika, I am in no way getting paid – the opinions are strictly my own.)

Tonight is Relay For Life. Tonight, I will celebrate all the progress we’ve made in the fight against cancer. Tonight, I will remember loved ones lost. My parents returned form a Mediterranean Cruise a couple of weeks ago and brought me this beautiful hand-crafted ceramic. It couldn’t be more fitting: dolphins are my favorite animals, and they purchased it in Rhodes, Greece. (Get it – Photographic Rhodes?) I think my husband and I (The Rhodes) will definitely have to visit Greece after hearing about their experience and seeing their photos. They’ve graciously shared a couple for me to share with you. Check out that view – now you know why it’s on my bucket list!

One of the best parts about Tanganyika Wildlife Park was how close we could get to the animals, like this giraffe. I love that I was close enough to see the veins in her ears!

This weekend we took a mini-vacation to Wichita, KS to catch up with some friends. While there, I had the best interactive zoo experience at Tanganyika Wildlife Park. This is a really unique park that promotes education and conservation, and encourages interaction. Yes, interaction! That’s what makes this zoo unique. I’ll be sharing several photos over the next several days.

Question: Does anyone know what the little pink flowers are in the foreground? They remind me of poppies, but I thought they were red.
