Day 171: Impending Floods

The nearby town of Parkville, Missouri is getting ready for the floods as the Missouri river continues to rise. Last night we visited English Landing Park near the river, and the water was definitely up and covering at least one road so far. We weren’t the only ones out – the park was bustling with people. I’m not sure if they were all gawkers like us, or if that many people usually visit the park on a gray and windy almost-summer evening.

Day 169-170: Weekend of Celebrations

We had a great time hanging out with friends and family this weekend. On Saturday Jerod & I attended his company picnic, where we were thoroughly entertained by a game of pinata. Later than afternoon his parents came to stay with us, and on Sunday we got to celebrate Father’s Day with both of our dads together for the first time. We also had a viewing of our Italy photos, complete with lasagna, bruschetta, salad, tiramisu, and Bellini’s.

Day 165: Bumping up with Bunco

Last night my cousin Holly and I hosted our 2nd Annual Bunco for Relay night. We had a great turnout with 28 people, we ate a lot of food and had a great time socializing. But best of all, we raised $442 for our Relay For Life team! We’re moving up toward our $5,000 goal!

Day 163: Helping Hands

I noticed these perfect hand prints on our bed as Jerod helped me change the sheets yesterday. What’s your feedback … is it a creative photo, or is it just hard to tell what’s going on?

Day 162: The Hills Are Alive

Last night we went to Theatre in the Park to watch the Sound of Music. Since it was so nice outside we decided to get there early to get a good seat. Believe it or not, we got there at 6 p.m. for an 8:30 show and the crowds were already forming.

Day 161: Taking a Gander

Yesterday evening my sister and nephew stayed with us before heading to the airport in the morning. My nephew loves to feed the geese and the ducks at our pond. The goslings are now several weeks old and actually bigger (and meaner) than the full-grown ducks!
