Day 301: All Hallow’s Eve Eve

I snapped this photo Friday evening of one of my favorite Halloween decorations. I think I like decorating for Halloween almost as much as Christmas! It’s too bad I had to pack up the decorations early since we’re moving on Friday.

Not all Halloween decorations have to be spooky.

Day 301: A Color Debate

This is the Broadway Bridge on the north side of downtown. I know the colored lights have been added this month to promote Breast Cancer Awareness month, but don’t you think they look more like Halloween lights?

This bridge in downtown Kansas City is lit with pink, or maybe orange(?), lights.

Day 300: A week full of surprises

When we got home yesterday evening, we had package of homemade Halloween cookies waiting for us in the mailbox. And they were still in once piece! Thanks to my thoughtful family for including us when we couldn’t be there for the cookie decorating. Have I mentioned how much I love this time of year? 🙂

Days 296-298: Celebrating the best day ever

Yesterday Jerod and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary. We also celebrated a little on Sunday … and on Saturday … but there’s no shame in celebrating the happiest day of your life! On Saturday we went to the Steamboat Arabia museum, the Blue Nile Ethiopian restaurant, and the Kansas City ballet. The highlight was the ballet at the beautiful new Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. It’s an architectural masterpiece. On Sunday we did lots of packing and took a little time out to reminisce over our wedding photos. And yesterday after work, we went out to eat and to a movie. We also received a great surprise gift from my parents. I think celebrating anniversaries is even more fun than celebrating birthdays, because you get to share the joy with someone you love.

We plan to look at our wedding photos and video every year on our anniversary. I can never stop smiling as we reminisce.

BONUS PHOTO: I can't have an anniversary blog post without including a photo of us. We took this shot in one of the same places we did our engagement photos.

Day 293: The dreaded day has come

The day has come [and gone] to start packing for our move in a couple of weeks. As you can see, I’ve done a great job of collecting boxes, but I’m not so great at filling them. Our cat is enjoying this a lot more than we are.

Esme loves to be right in the middle of collecting boxes, packing, folding laundry, cleaning, and everything else related to moving.
