This is a photo I took several months ago and never posted, but I’m gearing up to re-open my Etsy shop to sell Kansas City photographic prints as a fundraiser, so I thought I’d share it with you today. Several of my prints are already for sale; the rest should be ready tomorrow! 100% of proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society Relay For Life.
We’ve had a lot of rain in the last two weeks, which I guess is a good thing since we were in a drought last year. Unfortunately the rain, coupled with the cold weather, has made it hard to spend much time outside.
Tonight I attended a National Geographic talk about birds of paradise. The talk (by a Nat Geo photographer and ornithologist) was so informative, and the photos were incredible! It made me realize how little time I’ve taken to photograph birds. Maybe I just haven’t had the patience for it, but I want to be more intentional about it in the future. Here’s one of my few shots…nothing in comparison to what I saw tonight.
For those of you who have been asking, here are a few photos of our new home. We moved March 9, and of course it took us awhile to unpack and settle in. Here are a few long overdue photos.
Now that we’ve had a few warm days and some nice rain, we’ve been doing a lot of yard work at our new house. We really have no idea what we’re doing, but we’ve attempted to lay some grass seed and keep moist. It should germinate in the next few days. We’ve also been clearing out the flower beds, raking, mowing, weed eating, and many other things that seem to keep us busy. (Coming from an apartment, we’re keeping Lowe’s in business!) While outside I ran into these random flowers. They are kind of pretty, but they seem to have spread throughout our yard, so I’m not sure if they’re weeds.

It’s been just over four months since I returned from a mission trip to Haiti. It’s hard to believe how quickly time flies and how much I miss it. I just finished my photo book from the trip, so the experience has been on my mind a lot lately. You can learn more about the trip here. I hadn’t posted this photo yet so I thought I’d share it with you today.

Yesterday I participated in the Brew to Brew relay race with a group of friends. Eight of us ran 44 miles from Kansas City to Lawrence. Check out my friend Julie’s blog post to learn more about it!
This big girl turns two this week. We enjoyed a sweet birthday party filled with frozen yogurt, cupcakes, and candy this weekend. (Did you catch the pun?) She’s growing up so quickly! To see how much she’s grown, check out these other photos of her.
