It’s turning out to be a beautiful year for autumn leaves in the Midwest. I think the colors will be at their peak in a week or so. I grabbed my camera and took a different walk route yesterday afternoon for this view. Bonus – I even remembered my camera!
I had the privilege of shooting photos for this fun family this weekend. I’ve been doing photos for them since they got engaged about six years ago! I’ve come a long way as a photographer since then. The entire family is so photogenic – it’s never hard to walk away with a ton of great pics. I also got to do the little one’s one-year photos … more on that to come!
Baby K is eight months old today! Check out how much she’s changed since last month.
Oh, and we’re wearing blue to support the ROYALS! They made it to the World Series the year I was born and the year my baby was born. Historic!
This weekend we participated in a very special event – the first annual Kyleigh’s Gift 5k/3k Run/Walk. It was held in conjunction with National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day in memory of Kyleigh, a baby who passed away unexpectedly during childbirth. The money raised goes toward a fund her family started to provide sleep sacks for each baby born at Liberty Hospital. It’s a cause near and dear to many people’s hearts – most of us know someone who has lost a baby or had a miscarriage.

After yesterday morning’s 5k, Baby K had a grand time jamming on her piano. Who says you can’t be an athlete and a musician? Baby, you can be anything you want to be.
My baby was sick this weekend, so I didn’t get any smiling shots of her. I still wanted to capture her adorable outfit though – my new favorite!
We’re Friends of the Zoo this year, so we’ve gone three time so far. Fall is definitely the best time to go. There are no crowds, and the cooler weather means more active animals. I have to give credit – most of these photos were taken by my increasingly photo-savvy husband. 🙂
Baby K got a chance to test out this awesome trike last weekend! She’s still a little small, but she’ll be riding one before we know it.
I took this photo about a week ago, but as usual, I’m behind on photo editing/posting. Baby K doesn’t pull up yet, but if we prop her up against our ottomans, she can stand by herself for about a minute. So big!
Again, it’s hard to believe another month has passed. She just moved to a new room at daycare where they have scheduled nap times, so she’s sleeping a little less than normal. Since she was tired, she was pretty grouchy for this pictures – no smiles this month.
