My little girl turned 10 months old on Saturday! After taking these photos, we found out she was sick. Looking back, I can see she doesn’t look like she’s feeling well. But, she continues to change so much each month! She loves food and is putting on some weight, but is still little at 15-16 pounds. She pulls up and grabs everything in sight. She likes to climb stairs and stand up on stools, climb into the dishwasher, pull up on hanging bath towels, eat crayons, and all sorts of crazy things her sister never did. I think she’s going to be our little troublemaker! She also started clapping, signing “more” at the dinner table, and making more sounds that mimic real words.
See how she’s grown since last month (and see how much the weather has changed).

Last month we traveled to Ft. Worth to visit some of our best friends. Our oldest kids are only two days apart in age! It was my kind of trip (I love animals) – we visited both Fossil Rim Wildlife Center and the Ft. Worth Zoo. It was so nice to be able to wear short sleeves – something we still can’t do back in Kansas! Here are a few of my favorite photos.

This girly turned nine months old a few days ago. She had a big month! She popped out two teeth and started crawling, pulling up, waving, and eating finger foods. She loves food – we haven’t found anything she won’t eat yet. She still nurses great, but we’re going to start feeding her more high-fat foods, because she’s weighing in at 14 lb, 14 oz., just the 5th percentile. She stands 26 inches tall, about the 10th percentile. Her sister was small too, so we aren’t too surprised by her petite stature. See how she’s changed since last month. (You may also notice that it’s much colder in Kansas this month than last month.)

He is risen, indeed! It’s another cold Easter for this books – this may be the coldest I can remember. I’m happy we celebrated with family yesterday with a nice meal, Easter egg hunts, and our church’s Saturday Easter service. The cold front started coming in yesterday afternoon…today, it is sleeting!

I feel like I just shot 6-month photos of this little guy … and now he’s ONE! He is one stylin’ kid – and the West Bottoms turned out to be a perfect backdrop. The balloons may have blown away and it was way too cold for a cake smash, but we still got smiles and loads of cuteness!

I’m excited to welcome back one of my most loyal families. I’ve taken photos for them since their engagement – now their oldest is six and their youngest is almost three! It’s fun to watch the kiddos grow from the photographer’s perspective and see how much easier portrait sessions get as they mature. Although I always love a little bit of crazy thrown in!

Last weekend I had the opportunity to take photos for this couple’s 25th wedding anniversary! We’ve been family friends for years – in fact, Tom was the one who came to the rescue and gave us a ride on our wedding day when our Bentley broke down. They are the type of people you know will do anything for you, so I felt honored to help them commemorate their big day!

My little girl is eight months old today! This was the month of “almosts.” She is almost pulling up. She is almost crawling. She twists and scoots around both on her tummy and on her bottom to reach everything in sight. She can get from her tummy to sitting position and vice versa. She finally started rolling onto her tummy at night, so she’s now sleeping through the night – almost. (She still occasionally wakes up.) She gobbles up most baby food but her tummy doesn’t like yogurt – perhaps a slight dairy intolerance like her sister had. She loves to talk and mostly says “mama” still, which I don’t mind! She also trills her tongue better than any adult I know – Wookie in training! I think she weighs about 15 pounds.
See how she’s grown. And check out her sister in the same little vest a few years ago!
