In addition to shooting Damon’s senior portraits yesterday, I got to take photos of his immediate and extended family! They had done their research and preparation on location, poses, and props – which made my job easy. Not to mention how photogenic they were. I loved shooting at Krug Park in St. Joe. You can hardly tell it’s a park from the cool stone backgrounds.

I’ve had the pleasure of shooting a lot of their milestones – from their engagement back when I first started taking semi-professional photos, to their daughter and son’s birthdays. I love watching this beautiful family grow.
I love shooting one-year-old photos – they’re just starting to take their first steps (or in Gage’s case he’s already been walking three months!), they laugh and smile all the time, and they’re just FUN. I love all the props Gage’s mamma had for this photo shoot – it turned out beautifully.

I had the privilege of shooting photos for this fun family this weekend. I’ve been doing photos for them since they got engaged about six years ago! I’ve come a long way as a photographer since then. The entire family is so photogenic – it’s never hard to walk away with a ton of great pics. I also got to do the little one’s one-year photos … more on that to come!
This weekend during a family get-together, I let my eleven-year-old nephew experiment with my camera. He asked a great question about making part of the photo blurry, so I did my best to explain depth of field to him. He took all of these photos below – on manual mode. I think he truly has an eye for photography!

Ok, so I’m a little biased. I did a portrait session for my in-laws last week, and I can’t help but think these kids (my 6-year-old niece and 4-year-old nephew) are pretty cute. Their best features? Beth’s pretty smile and Caleb’s ornery facial expressions.Which photo is your favorite?

Have you ever tried to photograph a family with six kids? It’s not exactly easy to get everyone looking good at the same time. I thought this one turned out pretty nice though.
