Yesterday I met with the other girls on our Fun Committee at work to finish and deliver the invitations for our Holiday Party. Thanks to Pinterest, we have so many great ideas for our Cocoa & Cookies party!

Day 334: Bokeh Holiday Lights
Now that it’s December, I can officially start shooting holiday photos. I love my 50 mm f/1.8 lens. I’ve been waiting for Christmas for eight months to take photos like this.
Day 333: To My Health
Being sick is no fun. This is my first bout with food poisoning, and I certainly hope it’s my last. I spent most of the day yesterday like this.
Day 332: Light Catcher
It’s typically dark by the time I leave the gym and head home. Yesterday I wasn’t feeling well, so I went straight home after work. The sun was all ready approaching the horizon and was hitting my rear view mirror ornament just perfectly. I love the golden hours just after sunrise and just before sunset.
Day 331: Seven Days of Thankfulness (Day 7)
Last but certainly not least in my seven days of thankfulness: I’m grateful for the Lord. Thank you for forgiving me of my sins even when I don’t deserve it. It’s an important lesson to remember this time of year, a lesson that’s easily forgotten in the chaos of holiday shopping, meal planning, work parties, and family tiffs. Let’s not forget what it’s all about.
Days 329-330: Seven Days of Thankfulness (Days 5-6)
My husband and I celebrated Thanksgiving with our families on Friday and Saturday. That’s why I’m thankful for our big, extended families and all the time we have together. I have seven cousins and 18 second cousins. Nine kids running around, playing, and decorating cookies at my parents’ house was definitely loud and entertaining, but we wouldn’t have it any other way! And my husband has three siblings, so we have a big immediate family on his side. They had me take a family photo yesterday – the first official family photo that included me and our 2-year-old nephew.
Day 328: Seven Days of Thankfulness (Day 4)
In addition to my family and my job, I’m thankful for where I live. I love Kansas City – it’s not too big, not too small; most of my friends and family live nearby; and we have some great holiday traditions. The Country Club Plaza Lighting Ceremony tradition began 81 years ago. Believe it or not, this was the first year I’ve seen it. And with such warm weather, it had to be one of the best years!
Day 327: Seven Days of Thankfulness (Day 3)
I am thankful for my employer. Not only am I grateful to have a job, but I’m lucky to work for such a great organization. The American Cancer Society is dedicated to saving lives – what could be better than that?
Day 326: Seven Days of Thankfulness (Day 2)
I am so grateful for my little immediate family: my husband and my cat. My cat Esme is sweet, loving, and playful. My husband Jerod is sweet, loving, and playful too … and so much more. He forgives me every time I mess up, and he loves me even when I may not deserve it. I’m a lucky lady.
Day 325: Seven Days of Thankfulness (Day 1)
Day 1: I am thankful for my parents. Yesterday they returned from a three-week China tour. Aside from two very brief conversations, I had no contact with them, which that was more difficult than I expected. It made me realize how grateful I am for their honesty, advice, help, and unconditional love. I’m so lucky to have two great parents, and I’m very grateful they made it home safely.
