Day 306: Counting Down the Hours

We’re now less than 24-hours away from moving. I cannot say I’m excited about the move, but I am excited to be finished! Our place is a wreck. I’ll be MIA for a few days until we get settled, but I’ll continue taking photos throughout the move.

This lightless, shadeless lamp is just one of our many possessions ready to be moved.

Day 305: Go Chiefs?

I may not be a huge football fan, but I am proud of the Kansas City Chiefs after their Monday Night Football win against the Chargers, ranking them first in the division. I think I got that right. I guess someone (or lots of someones) was even more excited than I was – this downtown building was lit up in Chiefs colors Tuesday morning.

Red and yellow lights shine atop a Kansas City building; maybe they’re Chiefs fans?

Day 302: A Fabulous Finale to Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Saturday morning was the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5k walk in Kansas City, and I was honored to take photos at the event. This year we had 10,000 walkers and raised over $325,000 – a new record for KC! This event is so much more than a walk. You can also experience a photo booth, live band, and survivor speakers; and take home a survivor gift and information about Society services. I took about 300 photos – here are just a few of my favorites.

Ten thousand walkers partake in a warm-up stretch before the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk.
A beautiful elderly lady all decked out in pink. I wonder what her story is.
One of many determined walkers along the 5k route.
I saw lots of smiling faces at the event. Everyone seemed proud to be a part of Strides.
It took everything ounce of femininity from this guy to pose in all that pink at the photo booth.
